Requirements Test Submission Procedures

Requirements:

Manufacturer must be an MHL Adopter to submit a product for MHL compliance testing. Refer to http://www.mhlconsortium.org for more information on becoming an MHL adopter.
HDCP testing is combined with MHL 1.0 and above, and cannot be tested separately. If your product supports HDCP, you must complete and submit the MHL HDCP Test Form before testing can begin. Submit the completed form with your Simplay MHL web order form. Manufacturer must be a DCP, LLC adopter prior to submission.

Test Submission Procedures:

There are generally three steps in the test submission process.

1.Product Submission

Manufacturer must be an MHL adopter
Manufacturer needs to complete the Capabilities Declaration form (CDF) prior to product being submitted and attach this document with the web order form. Please go to http://www.mhlconsortium.org for the latest version of the document to download and complete. Please attach this to your web order form.
If product supports HDCP, manufacturer must complete and submit the MHL HDCP Test Form before testing can begin. Submit the completed form with your Simplay MHL web order.
Manufacturer must submit a device which can turn on and off HDCP function or provide two devices (one with HDCP 'enable' and one 'without HDCP' enable).
Manufacturer is required to provide a Return Waybill Shipment Label at the time of submission or your Preferred Carrier Acct#. Simplay Labs is not responsible for freight charges. If a Return Waybill Shipment Label is not provided at the time of submission, a $500.00USD disposal fee will be charged to the order.
The payment terms for all ATC orders are Cash in advance only. Simplay Labs must receive payment prior to starting product test. Once order is booked an invoice will be emailed with the payment details.

2.Testing

Manufacturer submits the product, along with any ancillary equipment (such as signal generators) required to operate the product, to the Simplay MHL ATC. The product and ancillary equipment must include necessary operating instructions. In the case of cables, one (1) sample must be provided.
Upon receipt, the Simplay MHL ATC will inspect the product for completeness. Requests will be made for any missing equipment or instructions.
Upon receipt of payment, Simplay MHL ATC tests the product in accordance with the MHL Certified Test Specification.
  1. Finish testing the original submission, and issue a completed failure report. Manufacturer will then need to proceed to resubmission.
  2. Stop testing original submission, and issue incomplete failure report. Manufacturer will then need to proceed to resubmission.
